Where we heading?
These day’s we have taller building, but shorter tempered. Wider freeways, narrower viewpoint. Spend more, but have less. Buy more, but enjoy it less.
We have bigger houses, smaller families. More conveniences, less time. More degree, less sense. More knowledge, less judgement, more expert, but more problems. More medicine, less wellness.
We drink too much, spend too much, too reckless, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry quickly, stay up late, get up tired, read too little, watch TV too much and pray too seldom.
We talk too much, love too seldom, hate too often, we’ve dreamed how to make a living but not a life, we’ve added a year to life, not a life to years.
We’ve been to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet the new neighbours, we’ve conquered outer space but not inner, we’ve done large things but not little things, we’ve clean the air but polluted the soul, we’ve split the atom but not our prejudice, we wright more but learn less, we plan more but accomplish less, we’ve learn to rush, not wait, we have higher incomes less morals,.
With cpmputers, we have more information, but less communication, we long for quantity but are shrt in quality, we have double incomes but more divorces, fancies house, but broken homes, so where are we heading? Perhaps it’s time to stop and reflect.
